When life gets in the way, it’s easy to forget to exercise, misplace your self-help book, and put off making that first counselling appointment.
You’re busy. You work around the clock and you’re often on your feet. Despite being on lockdown, there’s still so much to do and it can sometimes feel like you have no time for yourself.
You’re tired. When you don’t sleep well, you run on empty the next day. Even when you’re housebound and supposed to be taking a sick day, your mind keeps racing and you can’t stop thinking.
You’re not sure. Keeping busy sometimes feels like a good distraction from the bigger problems in your life. But you’re worried about opening up Pandora’s box when you’re meant to be keeping it all together.
When you’re sitting quietly with your own private thoughts, you sometimes wish you didn’t have to be alone with your insecurities.
Online Therapy Gives You Options
Online therapy is sometimes known as telehealth, e-therapy, distance therapy, cybertherapy, video counselling or video-based therapy.
I help busy professionals look after their mental health through online therapy. This means you will be able to access mental health support wherever and whenever you need it.
Imagine speaking to a professional from the comfort of your own home. Or taking therapy with you when you need to travel. This means you can hit the pause button, take a deep breath and transport yourself somewhere else.
All you need is a computer, tablet or smartphone with access to the internet – and you’re good to go!
Save Time and Energy by Doing Therapy Online
Online therapy is convenient.
Without needing to physically travel to and from the therapy office, you can instantly transport yourself to your therapy session with a click of a button. By avoiding all the additional stress of travelling on public transport across London and rushing through crowds, you’ll save energy too.
Benefit From Enhanced Safety and Security
Online therapy is private and secure.
Using a secure video app, you will be able to interact with your therapist in a confidential space, just like in face-to-face therapy. Feel assured that you are getting high quality, professional therapy with a UK registered, trained and experienced therapist. When you have your own dedicated safe space you can feel free to share anything on your mind.
See Change and Feel Better
Online therapy is effective.
You can establish a human connection when working virtually. Research shows that online video-based therapy is as effective as attending your therapy in-person. In an online space, some people find it more comfortable and easier to relax into conversations when speaking from their own familiar surroundings. When you’re able to let go and be more free with your words, you can experience the change and healing you’ve been looking for.
Will Online Therapy Work for Me?
Nowadays, it seems like everything is moving online. We are able to stay connected with family, friends and colleagues with the help of the internet. With this in mind, you wonder if you can make the same kind of human connection with your therapist online.
Yes, you can connect with a therapist online.
As a therapist who helps high achieving professionals overcome insecurities and grow in confidence, I understand how hard it may be to share about your fears, worries and disappointments. I’m here to help make opening up easier for you. Online therapy may be the answer you’re looking for if you want to go deeper in the comfort of your own space.
Online Trauma Therapy
Working face-to-face with a therapist and travelling for in-person therapy may not be possible. You may be feeling very anxious and fragile after an incident, such as an assault or robbery. It’s understandable why you may not feel ready to travel and see someone face-to-face.
Perhaps you are a helping professional who deals with trauma. If you are currently working in the NHS as a doctor, nurse or any other healthcare worker on the frontline during the COVID-19 outbreak, you may be feeling terrified about catching the virus and passing it on to others. As a therapist who works with first responders and health care professionals, I understand how important it is to have an outlet and your own space to take care of yourself.
Online Stress & Burnout Therapy
Your job may not allow you the time to leave the office or clinic. You already work lengthy hours, sometimes starting very early or ending much later than you intend. Even when you have a break, it isn’t easy to make your way elsewhere when you barely have time to pop out for lunch.
Online stress and burnout therapy helps you manage work-related stress so that you don’t burnout. When you put yourself first, you can feel more robust to face the day at work and feel more equipped to do your job. As a therapist who works with high achieving professionals, I understand the demands you face. Together, I’ll help you get your work-life balance back.
Online Relationship Therapy
When you’re stressed, others feel it too. It may feel like there’s a block between you and your loved ones. Sometimes you may feel others don’t fully understand you. And you become unreachable. Deep down you want to connect. You may even feel strange about asking for help. You may not want others knowing or getting involved. Asking for help can sometimes feel like a private and delicate matter.
Working through your relationships can give you the strength you need and can help you feel less alone. My clients often talk about relationships in their online therapy sessions and come out feeling more connected with their loved ones and to themselves. Even though your therapy is happening virtually, I take extra care to greet you with warmth and compassion, and go the extra mile to make your online experience feel more like we’re in the same room together.
When you’re insecurities take over, you feel a deep drop in your confidence and self-esteem. Perhaps deep down you are an introvert and know you need to work on your communication with others. Dramatherapy can be an effective and creative strategy for your therapy!
Yes, it is possible to work creatively online! Just because you choose online therapy doesn’t mean you have to stick to talking only. In my virtual therapy room, you have access to creative materials where you can type, write, draw and use other creative apps. There are no limits on self-expression when working creatively in this way. Sometimes when you open yourself to working in new ways, you can expand your mind and develop new perspectives.
So How Does Online Therapy Work?
Starting online therapy is easy. The first step to take is to schedule your free 20 minute therapy consultation over the phone. In this introductory call, we get to learn about each other. Feel free to ask me any questions about therapy and the way I work to see if I’m a good fit for you.
If we decide on working together, I will invite you to a 50 minute therapy consultation to take place on video. I will e-mail you a link to access my secure virtual therapy office. In the initial consultation, you will be invited to share more about yourself and your reasons for seeking therapy now. I will ask some guiding questions to better understand your situation. At the end of the consultation, I will recommend a therapy plan for you.
At the start of therapy, I will support you to complete the intake paperwork and will help guide you into the process of sharing about yourself.
